Pain Program

Chronic pain is pain that lasts longer than 6 months. It often has no known cause, but can exist along with conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (RSD). It can also be the result of work- or vehicle-related accidents.

Statistics from the Canadian Pain Coalition indicate that 13 to 30% of Canadians suffer from chronic pain, which can impact all areas of a person's life, mind, body and spirit. It often challenges those who have it to continue to find pleasure and meaning in their lives

We treat patients who suffer from non-surgical pain that is not managed by conventional methods.

We have clinical centres at the Royal Jubilee Hospital and at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. TheComox Valley Nursing Centre also provides chronic pain management support

We believe pain relief requires holistic treatment of Total Pain: physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. To do this, we work with patients and their families to explore options that maximize their quality of life and overall function.
