Families 2 Families

We offer Workshops and Drop-In's for parents and care-givers. These are scheduled and run in Schools or Community Centers throughout the school year.

Each workshop is normally 7 weeks long, where parents meet once a week for about 2 hours. Each week we will discuss tools and concepts, participate in experiential (role play) activities. Workshops are between 6 and 12 participants in size.

Our workshops are based on material from Positive Discipline. This is a program developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen. It is based on the work of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs and designed to teach young people to become responsible, respectful and resourceful members of their communities. Positive Discipline teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults.

Positive Discipline is:

  • non-punitive (no shame, blame or punishment)
  • solutions focused
  • mutual respect
  • based on child development principles

More information and Scheduled workshops can be found on our web site.

If you are interested in a workshop and none is scheduled in your area, contact us and we will endevor to provide something, especially if you can find some other parents to also do the workshop.
