SHINE

The children who witness overdose trauma support group program; Shine Program is a program designed to connect children ages 9-12 in the Nanaimo area, which have witnessed overdose with loved ones or effects related to substance use. This program was designed due to the opioids epidemic and needs from the community. The 8-week trauma informed, psychoeducational program will help children to gain the skills to manage their emotions and feelings in a safe and supported environment with children who may have similar experiences. They will be able to express themselves through art, music, drama, games and group dialogue. In this program the children will be provided the opportunity to learn and share in a fun environment. more info
